We can rebuild it, my Dad has an awesome set of tools!

More repairs related to the front of the car being hit back in 1968.  Not only was the radiator core support damaged, but the connecting plate that ties the fender apron to the cowl was damaged as well.  This plate acts as a crumple zone during the crash and had a small hole below it that was discovered during the repair. In the top photo, the rusty hole to the left of the drilled out tack welds was the culprit.  In a rainstorm, water would come down the windshield, through the small hole under this plate, behind the firewall insulation and carpet, then collect on the floorpans.  Over many years, this lead to the floorpans and toe boards rusting out.
